Where and when do we need you?
We are seeking a Literacy and Numeracy Learning Practitioner at our Transition centre in Wallington. Specializing in social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties and autism (ASC), our primary focus is supporting students during their transitional period to full-time education or employment, in collaboration with their Education Health Plan (EHP).
Your role as a Therapeutic Learning Practitioner will involve:
1. Individualized lesson planning, delivery, marking, and appropriate differentiation using effective approaches.
2. Helping young people develop action plans for employment, education, and training, supporting them to achieve these goals with high standards of planning and delivery.
3. Monitoring and completing student assessments, being accountable for their attainment, progress, and outcomes.
4. Supporting the implementation of each student’s IEP and PEP by providing relevant data to monitor progress, set targets, and plan lessons.
5. Liaising with employers, colleges, universities, and training providers to maximize opportunities for students.
6. Understanding how early life experiences may contribute to challenging behavior and demonstrating a willingness to learn about this.
7. Recognizing the potential need for intervention using positive handling strategies, working as part of a consistent team.
Additional details
This role is 37.5 hours per week, term-time only. Candidates must hold a full driving license and have access to a car. An enhanced DBS check is required, which will be paid for by Fair Ways.

Minimum requirements
* Qualified to A Level or equivalent.
* Knowledge of a function, trade, or craft through advanced formal training (e.g., BTEC National Certificate, ONC, City & Guilds Level 3/NVQ 3).
