Look no further! We have a fantastic opportunity for a Night Care Worker to join our friendly, supportive team here at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council.

We are recruiting for a new home opening this year, focused on providing a therapeutic-based model of care for children and young people who have experienced trauma and may have attachment issues, working with health partners.

As a Night Care Worker, you will engage effectively with young people and their families to meet care needs at night, supporting in the family home, residential home, or community venues.

This rewarding role requires you to be a positive role model—if you are caring, compassionate, enthusiastic, and approachable, we’d love you to join us.

What our young people say: “The service and the care home manager have been so supportive and have helped me build my confidence and turn my life around, and I’m now hoping to go to university...”

What Ofsted said: “It’s clear the children in this home are loved” and “Children love living here and do not want to leave!”

What other professionals say: “The homes are ‘brilliant’, the staff are ‘child-centred’. It is clear how much the children are cared for, and the staff are extremely proud of the children’s achievements.”

We will provide structured training and support to help you gain your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, with options for Level 4 or 5 in Leadership and Management.

Requirements include:

* A recognised Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to work towards it within 18 months
* A positive attitude and experience working with children and young people
* Ability to work over a 7-day shift rota including weekends
* Enhanced DBS clearance (including overseas police clearance if applicable)
* A full UK driving licence

For more details, see the Job Description and Person Specification in the Supporting Documents section.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £27,992, enhancements, sleepover payments, and opportunities for additional hours. Benefits include 27 days annual leave (rising to 32), a generous pension scheme, learning & development opportunities, a car lease scheme, retail discounts, employee assistance, and physiotherapy services.
