Offer description

At Turning Point, we support people across the UK with mental health issues. As a Recovery Worker, you’ll make a real difference in their lives by working closely with them to help achieve their potential.

Beacon Lodge is a mental health step-down unit that supports individuals transitioning from acute mental health wards back into the community. Passionate about people, you’ll enjoy the scope of your role and support individuals in gaining skills for independent living. With an emphasis on key working, you’ll need to work flexibly to manage your own small caseload and assist with the day-to-day running of the service.

Role Responsibilities

You will provide recovery-focused support through key working sessions and group activities, promoting person-centred care. Your work will help individuals develop new skills and find ways to sustain their long-term recovery.

As a Recovery Worker, you’ll work with individuals to devise tailored support and risk management plans, ensuring effective discharge planning. Your role is vital in helping them gain skills, coping strategies, and encouraging independence and positive change.

The role involves working on a 24-hour rolling rota, including 12-hour day and waking night shifts, with alternate weekends.

The Ideal Candidate

Experience in the mental health sector is preferred, along with a good understanding of the recovery model, a solution-focused attitude, and a person-centred approach. You should be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, adaptable to a fast-paced environment, and capable of handling challenging situations.

Most importantly, you should enjoy engaging with people with diverse needs, demonstrate empathy, understanding, and patience, and genuinely want to help others.
