Were looking for a Finance Assistant Sales Ledger to join our Income Team at Peterborough College on a part-time basis (22.2 hours per week, all year round). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, accuracy and being part of a supportive team environment within a values-led organisation. As our Finance Assistant Sales Ledger, youll play a key role in ensuring income is processed accurately and on time across a range of revenue streams. From maintaining the sales ledger and processing invoices to supporting learners with student loan applications and assisting with credit control, your work will directly support both the College and our students. Youll manage daily takings, banking and income receipts, ensuring financial controls are maintained at all times. The Finance Assistant Sales Ledger will also process sales orders, supplier invoices and refund payment runs, support petty cash administration and assist with credit control. Youll administer the HE, 24 and 19 loans system, liaise with learners regarding financial obligations, and ensure remittances and receipts are accurately recorded. Alongside this, youll support month and year-end processes, respond to queries from staff and students, liaise with auditors where required, and provide general administrative support across the Finance function. Flexibility is important, as the Finance Assistant Sales Ledger may occasionally support enrolment and cross-college events. What were looking for: Were seeking someone with recent experience in a finance role, ideally with strong sales ledger and payment processing knowledge. Youll be confident handling confidential information, working accurately with data and managing multiple priorities in a busy office environment. Strong communication skills are essential, as youll liaise with staff, students and external contacts. Youll also need solid IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and a methodical, analytical approach to problem solving. A Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject is essential (AAT desirable), along with Level 2 English and Maths.
