Role: Children's Night Support Worker (Orchard Court)

Salary: £12.91/hr
Hours: Full-time (40hrs). Role includes alternate weekends.
Orchard Court is one of our dedicated children's residential services in Mirfield. It offers seven accessible, en-suite rooms, all wheelchair adapted and fitted with tracking hoists. The service also provides a respite provision for families. We are looking for dedicated and compassionate people to join our team to deliver high-quality, person-centred care to the children we support.

Key Role Responsibilities
* Resource Management – identify, assess and report resource needs to the Senior Night Team to ensure adequate stock and equipment; report concerns at handover.
* Personal Development – pursue development opportunities to improve personal performance and participate in regular team meetings, supervisions, and reviews.
* Development of Autonomy – establish and maintain relationships with residents to complement care plans and create a safe living environment.
* Communication – communicate effectively across verbal, written and electronic mediums; ensure handover to the next shift and uphold Mental Capacity Act principles; enable residents to exercise choice and independence where possible.
* Nutritional Needs – support residents with dietary requirements, monitor and encourage intake, and involve residents in meal preparation where appropriate.
* Personal Care – assist with hygiene, continence management, bathing and dressing while maintaining dignity and privacy; uphold infection control procedures.
* Behaviour Management – manage behaviours according to individual care and behaviour plans.
* Medication – coordinate and administer medications and feeds in line with Trust policies.
* Moving and Handling – apply safe lifting and handling techniques and use appropriate equipment.
* Postural Management – follow physiotherapy postural guidelines to maintain physical condition.
* Environment and Property – keep living areas safe and tidy; report maintenance issues; protect residents’ belongings.
* Documentation – accurately record tasks in required documentation (Kardex, Care Plans, MAR Sheets) and communicate essential information with the team; record incidents electronically.
* Safeguarding – adhere to safeguarding procedures to protect service users.
* Confidentiality – handle information in line with Data Protection Act and information governance policies.
* Flexibility & Timekeeping – perform duties as required to meet service needs and be flexible at shift start/end times.
* Competency Behaviours & Attitude – maintain high-quality service delivery, working collaboratively with empathy and respect; develop yourself and others; act as a professional ambassador for Hollybank Trust.
