Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated nurse to join the Clinical Nurse Specialist team within Greater Glasgow & Clyde Urology department, serving the North & Clyde sectors. The role involves working across multiple key sites: Glasgow Royal Infirmary, Royal Alexandra Hospital, Inverclyde Royal Hospital, Vale of Leven Hospital and Stobhill Hospital.
Responsibilities
To deliver and maintain high standards of specialised care for patients undergoing investigation, diagnosis, treatment and follow‑up for a wide spectrum of urological conditions. Key duties include:
* Expert assessment and management of patients along the bladder and prostate pathways, including complex cancer and benign conditions.
* Managing a defined caseload, prioritising and organising workload to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality services.
* Providing advanced clinical advice, support and education across a range of care settings, with a focus on cystoscopy and prostate care.
* Participating in leadership, education, research and service development activities under clinical governance.
Qualifications
* Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
* Post‑registration experience in urology or a related Clinical Nurse Specialist field.
* Clinically confident, highly organised and passionate about patient‑centred care.
* Strong leadership, communication and problem‑solving skills.
* Experience and competence in cystoscopy, bladder and prostate assessment highly desirable.
* Previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Specialist or a postgraduate qualification in Urology desirable but not essential.
