Robert Half are pleased to be partnering with an organisation who have been established for over 170 years based in Thame to recruit a Legal Cashier. The Legal Cashier will receive a salary of up to £40,000 along with other attractive benefits including hybrid remote working!
Primary responsibilities;
1. Ensuring compliance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules
2. Processing all client and office account transactions including using online banking facilities, transferring funds between accounts, making electronic payments and recording receipts
3. Carrying out daily bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate ledgers
4. Processing all accounts receivable (client)
5. Paying interest on client account monies
6. Handling general enquiries and resolving queries (internal only)
7. Housekeeping of files and ledgers and assisting the Head Cashier and Finance Team Leader in ensuring residual balances are dealt with promptly and within SAR timeframes
8. Adhoc administration
9. Contacting bank with queries
10. Reconciliation of control accounts as required
Key experience and attributes;
11. 2+ years experience working in a legal finance environment in compliance with Solicitors Accounts Rules essential
12. ILFM Diploma (strongly preferred) or support to undertake it given
13. Proficiency in legal accounting software (previous use of SOS Practice Manager advantageous but not essential)
14. Visualfiles CMS knowledge advantageous but not essential
15. Accuracy & attention to detail with a methodical approach to work
16. Excellent communication - face to face, telephone and written
17. Proficient IT skills using Microsoft Office applications
18. Ability to multi-task and work under pressure to meet deadlines
