Job Specification
The successful candidate will be an enthusiastic and skilled Sports Coach with experience in delivering engaging and inclusive sports and physical education activities to primary school-aged children.
Key Responsibilities And Requirements
* Experience:
o Essential experience delivering sports coaching or physical education to primary school-aged children. This is a mandatory requirement.
o Experience in planning and leading a variety of sports and physical activities suitable for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils.
o Experience in adapting activities to cater for different abilities and needs.
* Skills and Knowledge:
o Knowledge of a range of sports and physical activities appropriate for primary school children.
o Understanding of child development and how to promote physical literacy and healthy lifestyles.
o Ability to deliver clear instructions and demonstrations.
o Strong behaviour management skills in a sporting context.
o Ability to motivate and inspire children to participate and enjoy physical activity.
o Understanding of health and safety considerations in sports and physical education.
o Good communication and interpersonal skills, able to liaise effectively with pupils, staff, and potentially parents.
o Knowledge of safeguarding procedures relevant to working with children.
* Role Responsibilities:
o Plan and deliver high-quality sports coaching sessions and physical education lessons.
o Organise and lead a variety of sports clubs and extracurricular activities (e.g., after-school clubs).
o Support the school in organising and running sports events and competitions.
o Promote positive attitudes towards physical activity and healthy competition.
o Ensure the safe use of sports equipment and facilities.
o Monitor and assess children's progress and participation in sports and physical activities.
o Work collaboratively with school staff to integrate sports into the wider school curriculum where appropriate.
