Overview
The Operational Risk Management (ORM) function within the Chief Risk Office (CRO) has group‑wide responsibility for risk management. This role focuses on overseeing and governing transaction processing risk (TPR) across multiple divisions.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist the TPR Oversight & Governance Head with designing and implementing a comprehensive governance framework across the TPT function, ensuring alignment with the bank’s broader ORM strategy.
* Define TPR procedures and protocols for governance forum reporting, policy input, issue and event escalation and decision‑making/veto processes.
* Support the development of TPR reporting frameworks that provide actionable information to senior stakeholders.
* Collaborate with risk managers across 1LoD and 2LoD to synthesize TPR data into meaningful insights on the health of the control environment.
* Act as a point of contact for TPR governance and regulatory‑related initiatives, producing materials that track TPR initiatives across the bank and keeping the Head of TPR function informed of key activities.
* Represent the function in risk forums as required.
Skills and Experience
* Strong understanding of non‑financial risks, particularly related to transaction processing and associated operational controls.
* Experience working in a successful governance function.
* Robust understanding of ORM principles and practices.
* Demonstrable experience developing strong relationships with business areas to facilitate risk management across the 3 Lines of Defence model.
* Experience engaging with senior stakeholders in a high‑pressure dynamic environment.
* Appreciation of the regulatory environment in the business and broader perspectives on Transaction Processing Risk.
