About Our Client
This client is a large UK based transportation provider. It is committed to maintaining efficient operations and supporting its workforce in Edinburgh, Fife and Inverness.
Job Description
3. Compile and publish agreed rosters using the corporate rostering tool in accordance with Maintenance Rostering Principles, company policies and standards.
4. Demonstrate sound knowledge of Microsoft Excel, to support financial modelling, reporting, and decision making.
5. Hands-on experience with rostering, particularly within the railway or a similarly complex operational environment, is highly beneficial to ensure practical, efficient, and compliant workforce planning.
6. Prepare rosters for weekly rostered duties. Covering sickness, annual leave, training, briefing and special arrangements. Liaise with relevant line managers to crosscheck roster data.
7. Manage short notice roster alterations liaising with all affected employees and line managers, including gaining verbal confirmation where necessary. Respond to and resolve any queries relating to roster issues.
8. Make roster arrangements for medical examinations and interviews.
9. Make roster arrangements for safety critical competence expiries, training plans, training courses and briefings.
10. Monitor competency data so that no base roster shifts are left uncovered due to expired competencies.
11. Liaise with associated Competency Delivery Specialist on maintaining competency records.
12. Gather and analyse fatigue data and highlight issues to the relevant line manager.
13. Provide information and data to support the route and delivery unit reporting requirements.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Roster Administrator should have:
14. Excellent knowledge of national rostering principles
15. Previous successful experience in prioritising workloads and delivering to deadlines
16. Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills
17. Previous successful experience of analysing data and producing reports
18. Understanding of conditions of service applicable to rostering
19. Understanding of roster systems
20. Demonstrable ability to accurately manage data and attention to detail
21. Previous successful experience of working in a team and engaging with virtual team members
22. Able to demonstrate good general IT skills
