The IT Frontline Service Technician role is based in Derbyshire and is commutable from Derby, Nottingham, Sutton in Ashfield, Mansfield, and Chesterfield.
This is an exciting phase for the business as they expand. The successful candidate will have access to the latest technology and will play a key role in shaping the IT department’s direction.
They seek an IT Frontline Service Technician with experience in 1st/2nd line support, and some 3rd line support if possible. Responsibilities include triaging tickets, diagnosing and resolving issues, and escalating to 3rd line support when necessary, collaborating with the infrastructure team to resolve complex problems and develop skills.
The role reports to the Head of IT and involves close work with the Infrastructure Team and other IT projects. Training opportunities include courses and Udemy resources to enhance skills.
The role involves occasional travel to other company sites within the UK.
Candidate Requirements
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
* Basic networking knowledge: firewalls, routers, switches, access points, cabling
* Methodical approach to troubleshooting using tools like Google, ChatGPT
* Strong interpersonal skills with diverse teams
* Good communication skills
* Reliability and punctuality
* Valid UK driving license and access to a vehicle
* Right to work in the UK
Key Responsibilities
* Providing end-user training
* Maintaining documentation in Confluence
* User onboarding/offboarding: creating accounts, assigning rights, password resets
* Installing and configuring desktops, laptops, mobiles, tablets
* Troubleshooting hardware/software issues
* Replacing damaged hardware/network components
* Supporting users with technical challenges
* Participating in IT projects
* Coordinating with third-party support
* Managing IT equipment stock
