Job Summary
We currently have full‑time and part‑time vacancies for Housekeeping Assistants at Ashford and St. Peters Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The role involves providing effective and efficient cleaning and food service support across wards and departments, ensuring the highest standards of care and hygiene at all times.
Main Duties
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, food hygiene, COSHH, Infection Control, and all relevant regulations.
* Use and maintain personal protective equipment in line with health and safety legislation.
* Keep wards and departments free from excessive refuse and presentable at all times.
* Remove, re‑hang, and label curtains for transport to the laundry or dispose of them appropriately.
* Report all maintenance issues and hazards to your Team Leader or Housekeeping Supervisor.
* Adhere to departmental and Trust personal hygiene policies and procedures at all times.
* Prepare cutlery, crockery and trays for patient meal times, and wash and put them away after service.
* Wash and replenish water jugs, clean patient tables throughout the day as required.
* Maintain the cleanliness of the ward kitchen before, during and after patient meal service.
* Serve patient beverages and snacks, ensuring the ward kitchen remains clean and stocked.
* Monitor and record refrigerator temperatures, defrosting refrigerators as required.
* Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
* Demonstrate flexibility to adapt to changing service needs.
