Job description
About you
We have an exciting opportunity for a role as a Housing Stock Condition Surveyor within the Asset Maintenance team.
We are seeking a knowledgeable and skilled surveyor and accredited domestic energy assessor, with a housing, construction or surveying qualification or the equivalent proven experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience of undertaking Stock Condition Surveys and of using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System to assess hazards in homes.
You should possess excellent communication skills and be able to manage your own workload. Strong organisational skills, an ability to work under pressure, and a flexible approach to work are essential.
You must be confident in the use of IT systems and capable of navigating through MS Office and Outlook, and have experience of housing databases and the use of handheld devices for surveys.
About the role
As a Stock Condition Surveyor you will be required to undertake condition surveys and HHSRS assessments within the Council's housing stock of 4,800 properties.
The role will also require the undertaking of EPC's on the Councils Housing Stock.
The role will also report identified issues, hazards and repairs and maintenance required to the properties that are surveyed.
Survey and EPC appointments will be made by the Asset Support Officers in the team, but there is an expectation that this role will also contact and book their own appointments and undertake some door knocking as required to gain access to properties that require a survey.
About the team
You will be joining the Asset Management team, within 'Asset Maintenance'. The Asset Management Team is dedicated to delivering high quality outcomes for the Council. The Asset Management Team manages the delivery of low energy, new build Council Housing along with the provision of Stock Condition surveys, EPC's, HHSRS assessments and data for the wider Asset Maintenance team.
