Description
As a Litigated Credit Hire Specialist here at Keoghs, you'll be at the heart of a team dedicated to championing clients' interests in high-stakes credit hire cases.

Location: Newcastle
This role offers an excellent opportunity to investigate Litigated Complex Credit Hire claims from a tactical and strategic perspective. The File Handler's role is to carry out complex & technical investigations on claims submitted from specific opponents, with claims valued up to £25,000.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join an incredible team and gain experience in investigating credit hire claims with a view to successfully repudiating the claims.

Key Accountabilities
The role involves managing a caseload of DA credit hire & injury files under supervision, handling litigation from RTA claims through to court conclusion. Main responsibilities include:
* Reviewing and analyzing files throughout the case lifecycle
* Developing and maintaining client relationships
* Formulating initial strategies for approval
* Legal research
* Telephone negotiations with third-party solicitors
* Liaising with insured parties and insurers
* Carrying out actions as per the task list in the Case Management System
* Processing bills and ensuring ISO 9001 compliance
* Ensuring adherence to SRA Standards & Regulations
* Working in a target-driven environment
The role also requires understanding of court processes, including drafting defences, completing questionnaires, managing evidence exchange, instructing Counsel, and drafting relevant questions and schedules.
Working Hours
35 hours per week, from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, with 1 hour for lunch.
Experience, Skills, and Qualifications
Essential:
* Experience in litigation and handling Credit Hire files, managing own caseload
* At least 5 GCSEs or equivalent; degree/LPC is preferable
* Initiative, planning, and prioritization skills
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to follow processes and work tactfully
* Decision-making and calmness under pressure
* Good IT skills, including Word, Outlook, and Case Management Systems
Desirable:
* Experience handling PI claims
