Bellshill Sharks ASC are a fully competitive swimming club. The aim of the club is to create a safe and supportive environment to train and coach swimmers of all abilities to enable them to reach their full potential as a competitive swimmer. The club currently has approximately 100 swimmers split across 4 squads. Role We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic individual to join our coaching team. This role may involve working across all squads of the club from swimmers at foundation level to swimmers competing at national level. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, review and evaluate a training plan and sessions suitable for the relevant squad. Develop technical and competitive skills of the swimmers across all four strokes, starts and turns. Create a progressive squad culture to maximise the potential of each individual swimmer in a positive, supportive and rewarding environment. Continually review the progress of the squad and individual swimmers. Regularly attend competitions appropriate for the level of the squad. Work positively with the Head Coach and other members of the coaching team to plan and deliver across the wider club. Work alongside other members of the coaching team to provide assistance and cover for squads across the club as and when required. Successful Candidates Should Be passionate about swimming and be willing to work with children and young people with a range of ages, needs and abilities. Have excellent communication skills with the ability to build positive relationships with children, young people and adults alike. Inspire the swimmers to develop a love for the sport and all it has to offer. Have the ability to work both individually and as part of a team. Be prepared to learn and develop and have great attention to technical detail. Criteria Must hold a minimum of UKCC Level 1 qualification (UKCC level 2 preferred) and be willing to work towards SSCQ. Have a background in swimming. Have previous coaching experience or experience working with children and young people in a swimming or sporting environment. Be willing to work flexible hours and commit to some weekend work to attend competitions when required. Willing and able to work independently as well as being able to build positive relationships with and to work as part of the wider coaching team. Demonstrate a sound knowledge of key technical details of all strokes and show knowledge and understanding of the principles of long term athlete development. Abide by club and Scottish Swimming policies. Complete an Enhanced Disclosure (PVG) check. Be able to supply at least one reference.
