3 Month Contract With A Local Authority
Role Purpose
The Domestic Abuse Education Lead is responsible for overseeing the effective delivery of Operation Encompass across Birmingham. This includes working closely with police and business support teams to ensure timely sharing of information with educational settings, and providing guidance and support to education professionals so they can respond appropriately to children affected by domestic abuse.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the coordination and delivery of Operation Encompass across Birmingham.
* Liaise with police and internal teams to ensure alerts are processed and shared with schools in a timely and accurate manner.
* Provide advice, guidance, and support to education professionals supporting children impacted by domestic abuse.
* Promote best practice in safeguarding and response to domestic abuse within educational settings.
* Deliver training and awareness sessions to professionals where required.
* Monitor and review systems to ensure effective information sharing and service delivery.
* Assess and identify risk, using professional judgement to escalate concerns appropriately.
* Work across multiple systems simultaneously, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
Requirements
Candidates must have experience in domestic abuse and be able to demonstrate:
* A strong understanding of the dynamics and complexities of domestic abuse.
* Knowledge of the impact of domestic abuse on children and young people.
* Experience working within a domestic abuse service or specialist team.
* Experience in completing risk assessments and/or identifying and managing risk.
* Ability to use professional judgement to escalate safeguarding concerns.
* A solid understanding of safeguarding in the context of domestic abuse.
* Confidence in delivering advice, guidance, and training to professionals.
* Strong IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Teams.
* Ability to manage and scrutinise multiple systems effectively.
* Experience working with education settings or multi-agency partnerships.
* Knowledge of Operation Encompass processes.
