A Day in the Role

RTGS settles on an average day £800billion and is critical national infrastructure. Each day brings new challenges and opportunities, creating an environment suited for those who work well in a fast-paced setting. An individual whose approach is getting it "right" in tight timescales can make a real difference.

As an RTGS Operations Analyst, you'll be at the heart of keeping our critical payment systems running smoothly. Your day starts with triaging new ITSM tickets, making sure incidents are prioritised and routed quickly to the right teams, ensuring adherence to SLAs. You'll keep a close eye on our communication channels, spotting early signs of issues and escalating them before they impact service.
Lunch may include informal chats with team members-either in person or via virtual coffee catchups.
You will be responsible for the maintenance of key reports and produce clear, reliable management information, that feeds directly into senior leadership and governance forums. Throughout the day, you'll support BAU service delivery by ensuring teams are following ITIL process, maintaining their documentation sets and delivering against their PIR and Problem actions whilst coordinating input to governance sessions and strategic planning.
You'll also support the Operations Lead with team wide initiatives such as OKR updates, meeting agendas and maintaining team collaboration spaces. By the end of the day, you'll have improved service visibility, strengthened governance, and ensured our operational rhythm runs without friction.
Job Description
This role presents an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic service delivery focused Technology Operations Analyst.
Reporting to the RTGS Operations Lead, you will be part of the RTGS Technology team that provides day-to-day support and development of new capabilities for the Bank of England Real Time Gross Settlement solution.

Being an Operations Analyst at the Bank of England will require championing a service-focused approach, ensuring the daily stability, performance, and reliability of the RTGS system by adhering to ITIL best practices, while operating within a heavily governed ecosystem. Facilitating between technical teams and business needs, managing the lifecycle of incidents, problems, and changes to maintain high service quality, will form a key part of this role.

There maybe occasional requirements to work outside of core hours in the event of a significant service disruption.
Role Requirements
You are a dedicated Technology professional within a service management environment, and you champion best practice adherence to ITIL processes. You have a clear collaborative approach to working across multiple teams, and are keen to bring others on the journey with you. You pay attention to detail and strive to identify opportunities for improvement, whether that be locally or at a team/domain level. You also understand that the RTGS environment is critical to the UK Payments Systems which requires a methodical approach and flexible to work outside core hours as required.
Minimum Criteria

* 1-2 years of experience working in an IT Service Delivery environment
* Understanding of key ITIL processes, particularly Incident, Problem and Change management
* Familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) tools
* Ability to analyse data to improve processes and create reports

Essential Criteria
We're looking for someone who has the following key skills and experience:

* Understanding of ITIL processes, including incident/problem management .
* Experience with ticketing/ITSM tools and triage workflows.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to monitor and interpret service metrics and SLA trends.
* Comfortable working in fast paced, operational environments.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience with PowerBI dashboards or MI/reporting tooling.
* Is Comfortable managing urgent escalations in live service environments.
* Familiarity with Confluence, SharePoint and documentation governance.
* Experience coordinating governance or audit related activities.
* Exposure/experience with SAFe Agile Practices

Salary and Benefits Information
We encourage flexible working, part time working and job share arrangements. Part time salary and benefits will be on a pro-rated basis as appropriate.

Leeds Salary £37,120 - £42,210

In addition, we also offer a comprehensive benefits package as detailed below:
Currently a non-contributory, career average pension giving you a guaranteed retirement benefit of 1/80th of your annual salary for every year worked. There is the option to increase your pension (to 1/65th) or decrease (to 1/105th) in exchange for salary through our flexible benefits programme each year. The Bank has the discretion to vary standard accrual rates and dial up and dial down rates at any time and to withdraw dial up and dial down options at any time.
A discretionary performance award based on a current award pool.
An 8% benefits allowance with the option to take as salary or purchase a wide range of flexible benefits.
26 days' annual leave with option to buy up to 12 additional days through flexible benefits.
Private medical insurance and income protection.

National Security Vetting Process
