Mulberry Park Educate Together Primary Academy is a single entry primary school that opened its doors to children for the first time in September 2018. We are situated on the new Mulberry Park housing development in Combe Down.

We are seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistants to join our team.

Experience working experience of working with SEND children is essential and a willingness to work with various ages.

Mulberry Park currently has higher than the National average levels of SEND needs and many children impacted by trauma or presenting with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, we are looking for someone who embodies compassion, resilience, and adaptability.

You may be a good fit for our school if you:

1. understand the importance of a relational approach and are committed to fostering trust, connection, and understanding in their interactions with children.
2. can support children with SEMH challenges, using strategies that promote emotional regulation, confidence, and engagement.
3. have the skills to manage and respond to unexpected behaviours with a calm, flexible, and solutions-focused approach.
4. understand this Is physically demanding and active role, which may include using de-escalation techniques
5. demonstrate calmness, flexibility, and resilience in challenging situations.

We are currently seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants with the following attributes:

6. An understanding of the importance of early learning and child development.
7. An understanding of early childhood development and the EYFS curriculum
8. A strong understanding of Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and how these can present in children.
9. A calm, flexible, and resilient approach to supporting learners
10. Experience and ability to support children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) on a 1:1 basis or within small group settings.
11. A comprehension of the impact of trauma on children.
12. Skills to build positive and nurturing relationships with children to foster their development and well-being.
13. Initiative, alongside the ability to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated team.
14. Proven experience in managing children with SEND, demonstrating effective strategies to support their learning journeys.

Our school is part of a group of schools in the Educate Together Academy Trust which was established in 2014 and places inclusion at the heart of its thinking and seeks to ensure in its mission statement, that that ‘no child is an outsider.

The salary starts at SCP 05 which is currently £25,583 pro rata.

The hours are Monday to Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm, until 4.30pm on Wednesdays.

The actual salary for these hours is £20,256.

Closing date: 14th May at 9am

Interviews will be held on 20th May.
