An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Account Manager to join our growing Free Trade team!

The Role:

This is a field-based role with responsibility for managing and developing relationships across all areas of our Free Trade business, including national and regional wholesalers, national accounts, pub companies, independent free trade customers, and local breweries.

The successful candidate will play a key role in growing sales volume, distribution, brand visibility and profitability whilst identifying and securing new business opportunities. You will manage your own territory, build strong customer relationships and act as an ambassador for the Joseph Holt brand.


Key Responsibilities:

* Manage and develop relationships with existing Free Trade customers across your territory.
* Drive sales volume, distribution and profitability across Joseph Holt own brands and partner products.
* Build strong relationships with both direct and indirect customers.
* Identify and secure new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and networking.
* Conduct regular customer reviews to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
* Increase product visibility, distribution and point-of-sale presence within customer outlets.
* Work collaboratively with internal departments including Customer Services, Credit Control and Logistics.
* Represent Joseph Holt at industry events, customer functions and trade activities.
* Maintain accurate customer records and sales reporting.

What Were Looking For:

* Previous sales, account management or business development experience, ideally within FMCG, brewing, hospitality or drinks sectors (Preferred but not essential).
* Strong commercial awareness and ability to identify growth opportunities.
* Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
* Confident communicator with strong presentation skills.
* Self-motivated and able to manage a territory independently.
* Organised with excellent planning and time management skills.
* Comfortable analysing sales performance and identifying opportunities for improvement.
* A positive team player who can build strong internal and external relationships.
* Flexible and results focused.
* Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills
* Full, clean UK driving licence.

Joseph Holt is an independent, six-generation family-owned company, with 128 pubs across the Northwest, ranging from traditional community pubs, food led destination pubs and some with onsite letting rooms. Since 1849 we have been brewing a wide range of award-winning beers in our Manchester brewery, which have won 9 Gold Medals at the International Brewing Awards at the last 8 International Brewing Awards in the last 15 years alone. Alongside this, we have an ever-expanding Free Trade and sell beer to multiple types of accounts across the country. We are a friendly, family run Brewer and Pub Company that are passionate about what we do and the people who work for us. For over 100 years, we have fundraised for the Christie Hospital and support different charity appeals throughout the community.
