Overview
Stantec is seeking experienced Overhead Line Design Engineers (Principal, Senior, or Experienced) to join our Transmission & Distribution team in the UK. This role involves delivering a variety of OHL projects, producing technical documents, and developing design criteria in accordance with industry standards. The position offers the opportunity to work on innovative projects within the evolving UK energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
1. Develop and review technical documents such as line schedules, plan/profile drawings, and staking tables.
2. Conduct feasibility studies to evaluate technical and economic viability.
3. Coordinate with civil, structural, and other disciplines to ensure project integrity.
4. Participate in the development of design criteria, conductor and structure selection, insulation coordination, and lightning performance assessments.
Qualifications and Experience
* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Civil Engineering, or relevant industry experience.
* Registration such as CEng or IEng is advantageous.
* Experience in designing and modifying OHL projects, ideally using PLS-CADD.
* Knowledge of UK design standards and requirements.
* Understanding of T&D disciplines like HV Plant or HV Cable design is a plus.
