Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Key Result Areas & Performance :
1. To establish and maintain communication, with various individuals and groups of service users, carers and staff on complex potentially stressful topics in a range of situations.
2. To develop knowledge and practice in an area of work.
3. To promote best practice in health, safety and security.
4. To contribute to the development of services.
5. To improve quality.
6. To enable people to exercise their rights and promote their equality and diversity.
7. To assess people's care needs when those needs are complex across their caseload.
8. To plan, deliver and evaluate care programmes to address people's complex and changing needs.
9. To develop, sustain and evaluate partnership working with individuals, groups, communities and agencies.
10. To lead in the development of knowledge, ideas and work practice.
11. To allocate, coordinate, monitor and assess the work of groups and individuals.
12. To maintain and support the efficient use of physical and/or financial resources.

Person specification
Qualifications
Essential criteria

Registered Professional (Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker or OT).
Mentorship qualification.
Evidence of post registration further development.
Relevant post registration experience.
Desirable criteria

Degree in Health Care related subject.
Qualification in psychosocial interventions in mental health.
KUF training
Experience
Essential criteria

Post qualification experience to include appropriate experience within an acute mental health care setting and / or significant experience within community, crisis care, or liaison psychiatry.
Experience of working with other professions within a multi-disciplinary team
To understand and have experience of risk management
Experience of working independently
Desirable criteria

Advanced Assessment Skills training
Experience with telephone triage within a Single Point of Access Service
Experience of Psychiatric Liaison services
Knowledge & Skills
Essential criteria

Knowledge of relevant mental health law.
Knowledge of adult and children safeguarding requirements.
Desirable criteria

Knowledge of RiO patient record system.
Accredited training in customer service

Essential criteria

Ability to work under pressure
Punctual & Good attendance record
Keen to learn new skills and to share learning with others.
