Main Contractor – Cambridgeshire – £65,000–£70,000 Package We are currently seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Main Contractor on a long-term project in Cambridgeshire. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing commercial and contractual activities across the project lifecycle — from procurement through to final account. Key Responsibilities As a Quantity Surveyor, you will: * Manage procurement of subcontract packages and issue contracts * Prepare monthly cost reports, valuations, and cashflow forecasts * Track project variations and maintain accurate cost records * Review drawings, specifications, and bills of quantities for commercial impact * Liaise with the Commercial Director and Project Manager regularly * Chair pre-award meetings and support subcontractor performance * Attend site progress meetings and provide updates on commercial matters * Process interim payments and final account agreements Experience and Qualifications Required To be successful in this Quantity Surveyor role, you’ll need: * A degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline * Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor in a main contractor environment * Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts and procurement processes * Excellent ability to analyse drawings, specifications, and subcontractor quotes * Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and construction-specific cost software * Strong communication skills and the ability to manage relationships at all levels What’s on Offer * Salary: £65,000 – £70,000 per annum * Company benefits package * Long-term career development * High-profile regional project pipeline * Supportive site and commercial team Location: Cambridgeshire Type: Full-time, Permanent
