We are seeking to appoint a committed Consultant Breast Histopathologist to join our experienced and highly motivated team at the Wythenshawe site (although as our service develops and reconfigures, there may be a requirement to work across our other sites). Wythenshawe is a busy teaching Hospital and a regional centre / tertiary referral site for breast and cardiothoracic surgery.
We also have high volumes of endoscopy and colorectal cancer work and a plastics and GP skin workload.
You will join a team of 18 other substantive Consultants in the Histopathology Department at Wythenshawe (and 22 Consultants at the ORC site). The main responsibilities of this post would be:
* Provide subspecialised histopathology for clinical users (Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust, Tameside & Glossop Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust and local General Practices), including review of slides referred for further investigation or treatment from other hospitals.
* Participate in cancer multidisciplinary team meetings (MDTs) in line with subspecialisation, which may involve travel to other sites.
* Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training, and teach histopathology to allied health professionals.
