What you’ll be doing:
You will support ship design development by producing equipment specifications and engineering outputs in line with all technical and quality standards, ensuring Suppliers equipment meets agreed specifications. You will be responsible for maintaining equipment parts, systems, and associated data to ensure an accurate and current representation of the baseline design. You will collaborate with stakeholders to integrate systems and contribute to review activities, including Design and Safety Reviews and support acceptance activities for Outfit systems. The position further requires liaising with customers and suppliers on engineering matters, responding to technical queries, and making informed decisions within your delegated authority.
Core duties:
* You will bring solid experience from an engineering, marine, or defence‑related industry.
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the core principles and values within your discipline.
* Evaluate complex problems effectively and exercise sound engineering judgements.
* Assess options confidently and make appropriate trade‑off strategies.
* Use proven experience gained within an Outfit or Seamanship ship design environment.
Stage 1 Outfit and Seamanship Team:
Work to deliver the Outfit and Seamanship systems, compartment designs and integration activities in accordance with defined processes and quality standards. Provide clear advice and effective support to stakeholders to help achieve objectives and deliverables while maintaining high levels of quality and service.
