Location
Our Software Engineer will be an integral part of our Business Systems Engineering team. This role is based remotely as a full‑time employee in the UK, Ireland, Estonia, the Netherlands, Sweden and Israel. We are also open to contractors in Eastern Europe and Portugal.

The Opportunity
As a Software Engineer focusing on Business Systems, you will be actively involved in the planning, design, and implementation of improvements and new features for our critical billing and invoicing systems. You’ll be a key contributor to the ongoing development of these strategic platforms, and you will lead collaborations on integrations with other business systems. This role requires a keen interest in understanding complex business processes, engaging with stakeholders to identify challenges, and guiding the development of innovative solutions to streamline operations. You’ll work closely with product managers, finance teams, and other developers across teams, participate in product decision‑making, and have end‑to‑end ownership of projects.
Responsibilities
* Leading feature implementation from proposal through specification and implementation to maintenance, proposing additions and guiding execution.
* Collaborating and problem‑solving: engaging with business stakeholders, especially finance and operations, to understand needs, identify inefficiencies in current billing and invoicing processes, and propose and lead the development of technical solutions.
* Reviewing code: participating in code reviews, mentoring junior engineers on best practices for code quality and maintainability.
* Improving the health of the codebase: dedicating one day per week to housekeeping and guiding efforts to improve code health.
* Providing feedback and technical guidance for upcoming work: giving feedback early, finding challenges and unknowns, and ensuring smooth delivery.
Qualifications
* 4+ years of software development experience.
* A full‑stack or backend engineer with a desire to learn to become a full‑stack engineer.
* Solid understanding of programming languages; knowledge of Go and Python preferred; experience with other languages a strong plus.
* Strong knowledge of software engineering practices, design patterns, and architectural principles.
* Experience with Git/GitHub.
* Excellent communication skills in English, written and verbal.
* Self‑organized, goal‑oriented, self‑motivated with confidence, thoroughness, and tenacity.
* Ability to operate flexibly in a fast‑paced, constantly evolving team environment.
* Experience with business systems such as Oracle NetSuite, Deal Hub and Salesforce; business processing tools like Workato and Fivetran appreciated.
* Experience developing solutions in the cloud and/or using cloud services advantageous.
