An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Registered Manager to manage our two Carlisle Extra Care services, Heysham Gardens and Burnside Court, both well established and well regarded. Both services have a vibrant and established care team providing compassionate support to older adults. The services always ensure support cover is in place during the day and operate waking night support if needed. The service is registered with the CQC for Personal Care and maintains good systems to deliver quality consistently. You will need to fulfill the role of registered manager with the CQC and meet the expectations of local authority commissioners and the service contract, which holds a 'Good' rating with the CQC.
You will have the values and commitment to lead the staff team to provide high standards of customer care and person-centered service, promoting independence, choice, and wellbeing. The role involves operational management and direct supervision of a Deputy Manager and Support Workers.
You will work effectively with families and other agencies, maintaining positive relationships with on-site Housing Scheme Managers. Skills in contract and relationship management are essential. You will undertake quality assurance checks to ensure compliance with care standards. This is a busy service requiring a hardworking, accountable individual with strong organizational skills.
This role offers the opportunity to work in partnership with other agencies to meet the needs of older adults holistically. Responsibilities include responding to referrals, undertaking assessments, participating in allocations, and ensuring personalized care plans are in place.
You should have relevant skills, knowledge, and at least three years of management experience in care settings such as extra care, home care, or residential care. Previous staff supervision experience is necessary. A warm, caring, person-centered approach and a commitment to re-ablement, dignity, and independence are essential. We seek someone with a can-do hands-on approach who is a positive role model.
