Job Description
Location: Manor Walks Shopping Centre
Working Hours: 40 hours per week, 5 days out of 7
Pay Rate: £12.75 per hour
We are seeking a Security and Maintenance Operative responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and clean environment within a busy shopping centre. Key responsibilities include patrolling premises, monitoring security systems, managing cleaning routines, and supporting daily operations.
Responsibilities
* Maintain high cleaning standards and ensure waste management and recycling are efficiently handled.
* Conduct regular inspections of the site, including streets, car parks, and access areas.
* Implement and monitor health and safety procedures, liaising with the Facilities and Centre Managers.
* Ensure security by preventing unauthorized access, investigating disturbances, and operating CCTV and bodycams.
* Respond to emergencies, liaising with emergency services, and managing traffic and access during incidents.
* Carry out reception duties, including visitor logging and answering inquiries.
* Test fire alarm systems and respond to alarm activations.
* Ensure all contractors have valid permits before commencing work.
* Handle spillages, litter, and general maintenance within the centre.
* Adhere to health and safety legislation and guidelines, promoting a safe working environment.
Qualifications and Skills
* SIA Door Supervisor Licence
* Excellent customer service and communication skills
* Professional approach with sound judgment and integrity
* Ability to remain calm under pressure
* Teamwork and flexibility to cover shifts, including holidays and sick leave
* Ability to follow instructions accurately
