Our client is a specialist agricultural technology company with a highly successful UK team. They are looking for an experienced Contracts and Commercial Manager to join their team near Reading.
This is a key role where you will directly support the company's continued growth across Europe by managing vital government and commercial contracts. This is a commercial, business development and account role and not a legally focused role.
Position Overview
As the Contracts and Commercial Manager, you will be central to the company's commercial success. You will manage the full contract lifecycle, from identifying and bidding on new opportunities to negotiating terms and maximising revenue. Your work will ensure legal compliance and mitigate risk, contributing directly to the organisation's strategic objectives and its delivery of pioneering technology.
Responsibilities
* Draft, review, and negotiate a range of commercial contracts.
* Ensure all contractual activities comply with legal standards.
* Monitor government and commercial portals for new bid opportunities.
* Provide commercial analysis and input into new bids.
* Support pricing strategies to improve revenue and profitability.
* Identify and mitigate potential commercial and contractual risks.
* Act as the main point of contact for contractual queries.
* Prepare clear reports on contract status and commercial performance.
Requirements
* A degree in Law, Business, Finance, or a related field.
* Proven experience (5+ years) in a contract or commercial management role.
* A strong understanding of UK contract law and commercial principles.
* Direct experience in bidding for UK Government contracts.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
* High attention to detail and organisational skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and contract management software.
