This opportunity is for a Support Medical Secretary to join our Community Paediatric Service at Four Oaks Medical Centre, Sutton Coldfield, B75 5BS. It is a permanent part‑time role of 22.5 hours per week (preferably over 3 days).
The position requires working well on your own initiative while being committed to teamwork, excellent communication skills and the ability to meet the demands of a busy environment. You will provide comprehensive secretarial and administrative support for Community Paediatric clinics, including typing confidential and sensitive clinical reports, handling telephone calls, monitoring prescription requests, liaising closely with Doctors and administrative colleagues, and organising correspondence around clinic appointments.
Main duties of the job
This role is 22.5 hours per week providing a comprehensive secretarial and administrative service for the Community Paediatric Doctors, including typing of clinical correspondence related to community based clinics and general administrative duties.

Qualifications / training
* GSCE Maths and English grade 9‑4 or equivalent qualification
* Certificate in Medical Terminology Level 2 or Level 3
Experience
* Previous secretarial or administrative experience
Skills/knowledge
* Computer literate with the ability to work with different computer applications including Microsoft packages
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to multi‑task
* Excellent communication skills to relate to both staff and service users
* Must observe confidentiality at all times
