The manufacture and testing of a range of products to a high quality standard in line with company procedures and documentation. You will be a member of the Manufacturing Department and report to the Manufacturing Supervisor.
We are seeking an individual with a 'can do' attitude, reliable and able, with a willingness to learn. Transferable skills for practical experiences will be considered. You will be encouraged to grow and develop your skills through a structured training plan. Full training will be provided to ensure you have all the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the role. This will be delivered through an apprenticeship. The ability to travel to the apprenticeship provider will be essential. The successful candidate will need to drive and have access to their own transport.
Responsibilities
* Assembly and testing of our instrumentation and ancillary equipment, including calibrations, pre-testing, temperature cycling, final testing, EMC and PAT testing
* Work in a Manufacturing cleanroom environment
* Performing soldering operations to aid assembly
* Use of laser engravers, welders, lathes, and other workshop machinery as required
* Completing build documentation for batch recording of parts and components, and the selection of individual parts to maintain quality and traceability
* Ability to collaborate with others and work effectively as part of a diverse team
* Seek potential improvement opportunities within your area of the business
* The ability to encompass the ethos and values of employee-ownership and translate this into working practices
Qualifications
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science/Technology subjects
* Strong interest in engineering and manufacturing
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Attention to detail, good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
* A passion for quality
* Computer literacy and proficiency in a range of Windows based PC applications (e.g. MS Word, Excel, Access)
* Willingness to train and develop
* Ability to drive and access to own transport
Desirable Skills
* An understanding of electronic principles, fault finding of PCBs and reading of schematic diagrams
* Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
* Knowledge of and the ability to use workshop equipment to high standards (or the ability to train in their use)
* Surface mount soldering experience
* Understanding of Employee Ownership
