Water & Waste Sales Consultant at Direct Business Group (DBG)
As a specialist Waste & Water Sales Consultant, you will be responsible for identifying and qualifying sales leads by contacting both existing and potential new customers. Your primary focus will be on conducting outbound calls to potential clients, uncovering their waste and water needs.
The Role

Key Responsibilities
1. Lead Generation: Conduct outbound calls to customers who already use one of our services, with a view to upselling our waste or water service.
2. Occasionally contacting potential new customers and looking to promote Direct Business Group for their future waste management and water procurement needs.
3. Qualify leads by gathering information on their current processes and advising if we can support.
4. Relationship Building: Build rapport with potential clients and identify key decision-makers within their organisations.
5. Provide information about services and solutions to generate interest and set up appointments where appropriate.
6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of interactions and follow‑up activities in CRM system.
7. Ensure all lead information is up‑to‑date and accessible to the sales team.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to ensure smooth handover of qualified leads and provide ongoing support as needed.
What You’ll Bring
* Previous experience in sales, preferably within an outbound calling environment.
* Familiarity with either waste management or water procurement is beneficial.
* Excellent communication skills and a confident telephone manner.
* Ability to quickly build rapport with potential clients and uncover their needs and pain points.
* Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office suite.
* Self‑motivated with a proactive approach to generating leads and meeting targets.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to think creatively to overcome objections.
