Overview of role:
We’re looking to recruit a Junior Digital Copywriter who will report into the Creative & Content Manager for the timely creation and delivery of a wide range of engaging digital copy for the Halfords Group, including Stores, Garages, and Mobile Experts. All written content should actively contribute to the overall Customer Experience aims of delighting customers, increasing engagement, improving conversion, and encouraging loyalty.
Working out of the Halfords Content Team, the Junior Digital Copywriter will collaborate daily with internal stakeholders to create accurate and engaging SEO-optimized content.
You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects. Ideally, you will have at least 1 year of experience (in-house or agency), be highly motivated, innovative, and organized, with a creative mindset and enthusiasm.
With over 1000 stores and garages, your words will engage millions across the UK. Daily tasks may vary from writing social copy for bike brands to FAQs on child travel, offering a dynamic environment within a forward-thinking content team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Create, maintain, or rewrite SEO-optimized copy with a customer-first approach, including:
* Brand Pages
* Blogs
* FAQs
* Category Short Descriptions
* Video Scripts
* Store information pages
Collaborate with the Senior Copywriter and Content Team to ensure consistency in tone and style across the website and blog. Identify content opportunities, conduct competitor audits, and provide content recommendations to help Halfords lead in each category.
Coordinate with marketing and category teams to gather information and update content as needed. Work closely with the SEO team to ensure content is fully optimized. Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams such as brand and marketing to integrate content into the creative process.
Ensure all work is QA tested, approved, and compliant with brand guidelines, obtaining sign-off from relevant stakeholders, including external brands if necessary. Meet all content deadlines through regular communication with relevant departments and your line manager.

* Understanding of SEO and keyword use.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office.
* At least 1 year of copywriting experience for businesses, following brand guidelines and tone of voice.
* Interest in cycling and motoring is desirable.
