As a consultant at Hays Education, I'm delighted to be working closely with a warm, welcoming and supportive primary school in the Clayton‑le‑Moors area to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide one‑to‑one support for a KS2 pupil with ADHD and behavioural needs.
Your new role
This is a full‑time, long‑term position with the potential to continue on an ongoing temporary basis. The school is committed to providing a nurturing, structured environment where every child can thrive - and they are looking for someone who shares their commitment to inclusive, child‑centred support.
* Providing consistent 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with ADHD
* Helping the pupil regulate emotions, stay focused and engage positively in learning
* Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised strategies
* Encouraging independence, resilience and confidence
* Supporting the wider classroom environment when needed
What you'll need to succeed
* Experience supporting children with additional needs, particularly ADHD or behavioural challenges
* A calm, patient and proactive approach
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive, trusting relationships
* Reliability, commitment and a genuine desire to make a sustained impact
* A passion for helping children succeed
