What We're Looking For

* Extensive experience in NHS estates compliance management and engineering services.
* Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, NHS technical standards, and regulatory frameworks.
* Proven ability to develop and implement effective compliance systems and risk management strategies.
* Leadership skills to manage teams, contractors, and multi-disciplinary stakeholders.
* Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
* Commitment to maintaining patient safety and high-quality healthcare environments.

Person specification

Qualifications

Essential criteria

* Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Construction Engineering or significant equivalent experience
* Recognised management qualification
* Member of a relevant professional Institute (CIBSE, IEE, IHEEM)

Desirable criteria

* Masters in Electrical, Mechanical, Construction Engineering
* Authorised person qualification

Knowledge and Skills

Essential criteria

* Electrical & Mechanical services
* Extensive knowledge of all highly complex Hospital Technical Memorandums [HTMs]
* Estates contract management

Desirable criteria

* BMS
* CDM

General

Essential criteria

* Demonstrate ability to communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing

Experience

Essential criteria

* Extensive experience working in a construction or similar environment
* Project management experience

Desirable criteria

* NHS Estates Experience

Employer certification / accreditation badges

Applicant requirements

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
