Bookkeeper (Property Development & Lettings) – Part-Time
We are a property lettings and development business seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to take responsibility for the accuracy and control of our financial records. This is a part-time position requiring a high level of attention to detail, reliability, and hands-on experience.
The role goes beyond routine bookkeeping: you will be accountable for maintaining clear financial systems, ensuring compliance, tracking rents, monitoring cash flow, and supporting business decisions on project viability and investment.
Key Responsibilities
* Maintain accurate records of financial transactions across developments and lettings
* Manage invoices and process accounts payable and receivable.
* Track rental income and tenant balances, ensuring timely collection and reconciliation
* Reconcile bank and credit accounts on a regular basis
* Prepare management accounts and financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow forecasts)
* Build and maintain reconciliation sheets, ledgers, and financial models in Excel
* Monitor loan schedules, repayments, and interest costs
* Assess cash flow requirements and contribute to development viability analysis
* Preparing tax filings for reviewal from an external Tax Adviser.
* Liaising with Tax Adviser and implementing any strategies recommended or advised.
* Support payroll and staff expense processes
* Assist with internal audits and year-end closing procedures
Requirements
* Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar financial role
* Strong knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles
* Proactivity is a requirement; the ability to do without being asked.
* Demonstrated experience within a finance or accounting firm.
* Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliations, financial modelling, and data analysis
* High degree of accuracy, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies
* Excellent organisational skills and time management
* Stable career history demonstrating reliability and commitment
* Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Associate or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred)
* Professional certification (e.g. AAT) is advantageous
The Role
This is a hands-on position where prior experience is essential. The successful candidate will provide structure, accuracy, and oversight to the financial side of the business, ensuring records are reliable and systems are well maintained. The position is part-time, offering flexibility while carrying significant responsibility for the financial integrity of the company

Pay: £22,420.00-£30,000.00 per year

* Southall UB1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)
