The Highland Cattle Society is seeking an organised and motivated individual to take on the role of Breed Secretary.
The Society maintains the pedigree herd book for Highland Cattle and supports a large membership of breeders across the UK and internationally.
The Breed Secretary plays a central role in the day-to-day operations of the Society. Responsibilities include pedigree registrations and herd book records, membership services, promoting this most iconic and beautiful breed of cattle, organisation of board meetings and the Annual General Meeting, and coordination of the Society’s Shows and Sales at Oban as well as representation at agricultural events.
Applicants should have excellent organisational and communication skills together with strong IT, social media and administrative ability. Knowledge of pedigree livestock and the cattle industry would be advantageous.
The role is based in Stirling with travel required during the show season. The Society is open to considering the possibility of the role being shared or divided between two part-time positions.
