About the Post

We are delighted to be able to offer an opportunity for a highly motivated, ambitious individual to join our well-integrated team. The post is available from August 2026 for 12 months and is intended for anaesthetists with a strong interest in Simulation and Medical Education.
The successful applicant will work closely with the Simulation team at St Richard's Hospital under the supervision of the department and hospital Sim Leads.
Responsibilities
* The fellow will be responsible, in conjunction with the Clinical Skills team, for the provision of regular simulation sessions for Foundation doctors and medical students as well as MDT and in-situ sim projects.
* They will have one day a week dedicated to provision of simulation and education.
* The duties will include pre, peri and post-operative management of surgical patients, assisting with care of the patients on the ICU, and provision of assistance with resuscitation calls.
* The post holder will also be expected to participate in the on-call rotas on appointment. The rotation will expect the candidate to participate in the Theatre and ITU on call rotas.
* The post holder will be expected to maintain a logbook and electronic record of learning experiences, including multisource feedback.
* It is expected that the post holder will register with the Royal College of Anaesthetists, and ideally use the electronic lifelong platform they offer.
* Educational Development Time will be provided in keeping with the guidance from the RCOA, so as to allow time for recording of such activities as well as participation in Quality improvement projects, research and clinical governance.
