Residential Care Worker Location: Belfast Salary: £29,523 per annum (£15.14 per hour) Hours: Full-time / Variable shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins Contract Type: Permanent About the Role Were currently recruiting on behalf of our new client, for Residential Care Workers to join their growing team. Youll be part of a dedicated residential unit providing therapeutic care and support to children aged 511 years who have experienced trauma or require emotional and behavioural support. As a Residential Care Worker, you will help create a safe, nurturing, and positive environment where children can develop emotionally, socially, and intellectually. Youll also work closely with psychologists and other professionals to ensure care plans are effectively implemented. Key Responsibilities Provide day-to-day care and supervision for children and young people in residential care. Maintain accurate records, observations, and assessments in line with policy. Engage in therapeutic work and implement daily care strategies. Participate in the development and review of individual care plans. Support children in daily routines including education, recreation, and personal care. Contribute to household tasks and promote independence skills. Attend staff meetings, training sessions, and supervision as required. Essential Criteria Minimum Level 4 qualification in one of the following (or related field): Social Work, Psychology, Youth & Community Work, Teaching, Nursing, Health & Social Care, Childcare, Early Years, or Play Therapy. NISCC registration (or eligibility to register). Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle. At least 1 years experience working with children or young people who have experienced trauma. Excellent communication, teamwork, and organisational skills. Desirable 13 years experience supporting children who have experienced significant trauma. Knowledge of therapeutic models and TCI (Therapeutic Crisis Intervention).
