About the role
Rugby is one of the fastest growing towns in the country and is set to grow by 30% by 2035. Located in the county of Warwickshire, near the cities of Coventry and Leicester, with direct rail links to London and Birmingham and within the golden triangle of the strategic road network, Rugbys accessibility is one of the key attributes making it a great place to live and work.
An opportunity has arisen to work as an integral part of our friendly and pro-active Development and Enforcement Team for a Senior Planning Enforcement / Planning Enforcement Officer to help deliver the Councils vision for the Borough.
Youll be leading on a range of planning enforcement matters and be responsible for ensuring enforcement complaints are investigated and assessed in a timely manner in accordance with the Councils Enforcement Policy.
Explaining every step of the planning and enforcement process to our customers is vital to our success, and your achievements will be based not only on your ability to do your job but also on putting customer service at the heart of everything you do.
In addition, there is plenty of scope to get involved in a diverse range of workload from the urban area of the town to the rolling Warwickshire countryside much of which is Green Belt, as well as heritage and cultural work that helps preserve the birthplace of the game of Rugby.
Whilst a full time role (37 hours per week), part time options may be considered.
About You
You will need to have experience of planning enforcement work together with knowledge of the planning system. You must be well organised and self-motivated with the ability to work independently, with very good communication skills and the ability to resolve a range of problems in a customer focussed manner.
A full UK driving licence and access to a car for business use is essential.
