Phlebotomist

An exciting opportunity has opened up at Prestwich District Nursing Team for a phlebotomist to join the team.
Duties will involve taking blood samples from patients within their own homes in the Bury area.
Main duties of the job
The main duties of the role will involve obtaining blood samples from patients within their own residence.
Important skills needed for the role
* Willingness to undertake training to the nationally recognised standards.
* Ability to work within a team and alone as required.
* Ability to liaise with patients in a sensitive manner.
* Basic computer skills.
* Ability to work under demanding circumstances and to deadlines.
* Ability to follow protocols and policies.
* Be flexible with working hours.
Qualifications
* Willingness to undertake training to nationally recognised occupational standards.
* NVQ 2 in Direct Care / Care Certificate.
* NVQ in customer service.
Knowledge, Training & Experience
* Experience in healthcare setting.
Skills & Abilities
* Basic IT skills.
* Ability to travel to different geographical locations across the Trust footprint in line with service needs.
* Good organisational skills.
* Ability to work in a high pressure environment.
* Ability to work within a team and alone as required.
* Willingness to work flexibly across the service.
* Car driver with access to a vehicle.
* Commitment to undertaking continuous professional development (CPD).
