Location: Trent Bridge House, West Bridgford, NG2 6BJ.
Role
You will provide strategic and operational leadership for a specialist team responsible for managing people’s finances, safeguarding assets, maximising income, and ensuring compliance with Court of Protection, Office of the Public Guardian, and Department for Work and Pensions requirements. You will lead the service through a period of stabilisation and improvement, ensuring safe practice, strengthening governance, and building long-term sustainable capacity.
This includes:
* Reducing waiting lists and improving access to the service
* Strengthening quality assurance and regulatory compliance
* Improving financial performance, including income recovery and debt management
* Embedding effective workforce management and performance oversight
Key responsibilities include:
* Lead and manage the Appointee and Deputyship Team, setting clear direction and driving high performance
* Ensure strong safeguarding oversight and protection of vulnerable adults’ finances
* Deliver service stabilisation and improvement, including managing demand, caseloads, and workforce capacity
* Oversee financial performance, including income generation, debt recovery, and budget management
* Build effective relationships with social care teams, partners, and external organisations (e.g. banks, solicitors, DWP)
* Lead quality assurance, performance management, and continuous improvement activity
* Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks, including Mental Capacity legislation and Court of Protection requirements
Candidate profile
We are looking for candidates who demonstrate
* Strong leadership experience within financial services, adult social care, or a related field
* Knowledge of safeguarding, mental capacity and financial management responsibilities
* Proven ability to lead service improvement and deliver measurable change
* Experience of working across organisational boundaries and influencing stakeholders
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to manage performance and demand
* Experience of managing risk, budgets, and complex operational services
