Downham Primary School, working in partnership with Berlesduna Academy Trust, has an exciting opportunity for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant / Midday Assistant to join the team as soon as possible.
This is a Fixed Term Contract linked to the pupil you will be supporting.
The hours are from 8.40am to 3.15pm (including a 30 minute break), Monday to Friday (25 hours, 25 minutes per week), term time only for 38 weeks per year. The position also includes a Midday Assistant role working for 5 hours per week during lunchtimes.
LSA Salary Scale 3, Point 5 (Range 5-6). Actual Salary £14,697 per annum (including paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).
MDA Salary Scale 2, Point 3 (Range 3-4) Actual Salary £2,801 per annum (including paid annual leave which must be taken during school closure periods).

We are looking to appoint an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to support a pupil 1:1, delivering activities and interventions as required under the direction of the class Teacher and SENDCo/Head of Inclusion. This role may include intimate care.
The ideal candidate will:
* have, or be willing to undertake, a Level 2 qualification in Understanding Autism (AET)
* be qualified to NVQ Level 2 or above and have achieved CGSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
* have experience of supporting children to regulate emotions
* work well as part of a team, taking advice and guidance from colleagues and other professionals
* communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff
