Contract: 9 months

RB1404
A leading mid-market private equity fund is seeking an experienced Corporate Development Director to lead the buy-and-build strategy for a newly acquired platform investment.
This is a high-impact, in-fund interim mandate focused on shaping and executing the growth strategy of a brand-new platform in a sector the fund has not previously entered. With committed capital and strong investor backing, this role offers the opportunity to build a business from first principles and drive significant value creation.
The Opportunity
Working directly with the investment team and portfolio leadership, you will take ownership of defining the M&A strategy, building the acquisition pipeline, and executing transactions end-to-end.
This is a rare opportunity to operate at Director level within a fund environment, combining strategic thinking with hands-on delivery across origination, execution, and integration—within a clearly defined 9-month value creation window.
Key Responsibilities
* Define and lead the buy-and-build strategy for the platform asset
* Conduct deep market mapping to identify acquisition targets in a new sector
* Originate and develop a high-quality deal pipeline across the UK and Europe
* Lead end-to-end M&A execution, including negotiation and structuring
* Build and oversee financial models, valuations, and investment cases
* Partner closely with management on commercial strategy and growth initiatives
* Support integration and value creation across acquired businesses
* Act as a key interface between the fund, management team, and external advisors
Candidate Profile
* Proven experience operating at Director level within private equity, investment banking, or corporate development
* Strong track record of leading M&A transactions, ideally in buy-and-build environments
* Highly commercial with the ability to operate autonomously in a new sector
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working directly with PE investors and senior executives
* Hands-on, delivery-focused, and comfortable in a fast-paced, evolving environment
* Available to start immediately or at short notice
