This is a home-based role with some travel across the UK (60% at home / 40% travel). You will be travelling nationally when required including CVS events, conferences, and leadership forums.
What makes this role special?
As Operations Director for the Companion Animal Division, you will be responsible for translating the Companion Animal Strategy into high impact and measurable operational outcomes. This role is accountable for shaping and executing long-term strategic plans, focusing on driving divisional growth strategies, leveraging data insights, and overseeing innovation projects to ensure sustainable expansion and operational excellence. You will be reporting into the UK Companion Animal Director and acting as deputy along with the Vet Director when required and collaborating with the Vet Director, Senior Regional Directors, Regional Directors and Ops Admin Team.
How do you contribute to this?
* Lead the delivery of divisional strategy, driving sustainable growth, performance, and transformation across the Companion Animal Division.
* Partner with senior operational and clinical leaders to align priorities and execute long term growth plans.
* Translate strategy into effective operating models, governance, and ways of working.
* Lead strategic initiatives and continuous improvement programmes to enhance client experience and clinical service delivery.
* Use operational and performance data to identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities.
* Drive revenue growth and year on year EBITDA improvement in line with strategic objectives.
* Support divisional budgets and annual and long term planning, ensuring strong ROI on transformation initiatives.
* Identify and launch new services in collaboration with clinical leadership.
* Operationally support the development of a future ready graduate pathway to support long term capability.
* Take responsibility for Referral & OOH's companion animal strategy working closely with regional directors to help deliver a joined up approach and continued growth.
* Full budget responsibility for the Advanced Clinical Service Network, Vet Oracle in house services.
* Develop senior leadership capability, succession planning, and engagement.
* Foster a culture of clear communication, recognition, and high employee engagement.
* Act as deputy to the Director of Companion Animal when required.
