We're recruiting for a Senior Development Underwriter to lead regional growth, combining strategic broker partnership management, new business development through tactical trading, and technical underwriting expertise. Key Responsibilities: Lead and develop partnerships with key regional and strategic brokers, working collaboratively with managers to deliver panel growth and personal new business targets. Plan and conduct broker performance reviews and training sessions to drive commercial lines growth, building a strong pipeline of prospects and using tactical trading strategies to support broker competitiveness Promote commercial lines products across the Regional Branch, the Regional eTrade, and SME-aligned schemes, maintaining front-of-mind presence with brokers through regular contact and relationship management Provide technical training and referral support to colleagues, profitably underwriting larger and more complex commercial risks while assisting the Regional Underwriting Manager in achieving retention and rate improvement targets Maintain accurate compliance and audit trails while staying informed on market trends, broking landscape, and relevant legislation or litigation affecting commercial underwriting Qualifications: Minimum 5 years' experience underwriting complex commercial risks with strong portfolio account management capability, delivering financial targets and shaping future growth plans Proven broker relationship management skills with the ability to promote propositions, influence positive outcomes, and operate independently while contributing to team-level goals Dip CII qualification or actively working towards it, with a decisive, commercially focused underwriting approach backed by excellent communication skills and both technical and soft skills coaching ability
