We are looking for Qualified NCO2s to join our team of Gas Engineers! SGN has an outstanding reputation for delivering gas safely, reliably, and efficiently — and every engineer plays a key role in keeping our customers safe and warm.
We are also open to applications from experienced Service Layers (minimum 3–4 years’ experience) who are keen to progress and complete the training required to become fully qualified Main Layers. If you’re ready to take the next step in your career, we’ll support you all the way.
I help to keep people safe and warm by…
1. Working predominately on gas service/mains replacement activities, excavating in public and private highways for the laying and repairing of gas pipes
2. Being in a variety of outdoor environments, working safely and as part of a team
3. Using computer field systems
4. Achieving high standards of safety and technical competence
5. Opportunity to mentor trainee engineers
What you’ll need
6. Qualifications (Required): GN01, GN02 (Main Layer) OR GNO1, GNO2 Service Layer experience (3–4 years minimum) with a willingness to complete Main Layer training
7. Qualifications (Preferred but not essential): NRSWA, ELR, SCO 1, 2, 4, 5
8. A full and valid driving licence
9. Confidence using technology and field‑based systems
10. A friendly and approachable attitude with excellent customer service skills
