Personal Assistant
A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF
I am a 90 year old woman living in the Barry area with my husband, son and daughter in law. I have a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s and I am housebound. I currently have PA support and I am looking for another PA to support me further.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To provide me with the personal care I require and to provide my family with some respite.
HOURS OF WORK
16 hours per week available. Hours will be worked in calls throughout the day, sometimes alongside my other PAs.
Saturday is the only compulsory day. This will be 3.5 hours in the morning.
RATES OF PAY
£14.20 per hour
Double time on bank holidays
TASKS CAN INCLUDE
Supporting me to shower in the morning.
Dressing me each morning.
Supporting me to the toilet and helping me clean up after.
Generally supporting me with my morning and evening routines.
Helping me to bed.
Any reasonable domestic task if there is time.
TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED
A reliable and punctual person.
A kind and friendly person.
Someone who is very honest and trustworthy.
A chatty and sociable person.
Someone who can use their own initiative.
A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home.
Female only due to personal care required.
Experience of working with someone diagnosed with Alzheimer’s desirable.
ABOUT THE JOB
This will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period of six months will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid four-weekly on return of a payslip provided by the Centre for Independent Living. You will receive appropriate holidays and holiday pay. This post is subject to an enhanced police check (DBS) and training may be required if identified by the employer.
