Overview
We are the Commercial and Framework Management (CAFM) team, part of Portfolio Management, Assurance & Commercial (PMAC), supporting our Programme and Contract Management Service to create a better place and build resilient communities through excellent commercial risk management. The role supports the team overseeing the commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors, helping maximise returns on budget and demonstrate value for money. You will help set up and manage pathfinder programmes that embed best practice and develop long-term collaborative partnership arrangements that deliver for both the organisation and society.
You will be an integrated part of our national team and will support your local delivery hub leadership ensuring we deliver the most sustainable outcomes on our delivery programmes. Training and incident response duties are a required part of working for the Environment Agency to support communities and prevent harm to the environment.

Responsibilities
* Support the team overseeing commercial governance of contracts with key consultancies and contractors.
* Help set up and manage pathfinder programmes embedding best practice and developing long-term collaborative partnerships.
* Provide country-wide support to Integrated Delivery Management teams and wider Project Management community to champion governance and commercial assurance.
* Develop and maintain excellent internal and external relationships and act as an expert on contractual and commercial interpretations within a high-performing team.
* Participate in incident response duties when needed as part of EA responsibilities.
* Ensure value for money and sustainable outcomes across delivery programmes.
Experience/Skills/Qualifications
* A-Level Qualifications, Level 3 Qualifications or equivalent.
* Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and influencing skills.
* Stakeholder management experience.
* Strong data and document management skills.
* Commercial acumen: ability to understand and analyse business situations, take proportionate risks, make informed decisions and deliver value for money. Demonstrate curiosity and drive to achieve value for money.
* Administration skills: strong organisational skills, ability to write minutes and draft reports.
* Willingness to shadow and undertake long-term professional qualifications (e.g., NEC training, CIPS) and ask questions to drive development.
* Interest in infrastructure, construction or environmental programmes.
* Degree or equivalent professional qualification or experience; working towards status with professional bodies (e.g., ICE, CIWEM, APM, CIPS, RICS).
* Formal training in contract management (e.g., NEC, Contract Management Capability Programme).
* Ability to describe suitability for the role and transferable skills in the application process.
* Understanding that the Environment Agency is not part of HM Civil Service and guidelines about continuous service may apply for certain applicants.
