The Queen's Centre Outpatient Department is located in the Queens Centre at CHH and is open Monday to Friday 8am - 6pm.
The busy department requires an enthusiastic nurse to join the team.
It is a dedicated service to patients with malignant and non-malignant Oncological and Haematological diseases.
The state of the art outpatients includes medical consultations, radiotherapy treatment and a large day unit that delivers intravenous therapy. The Unit enjoys excellent resources that deliver specialist care.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for accessing CVADs, undertaking assessment of blood results to determine if intervention is needed and administering injections as part of the patients overall treatment plan.
Full training will be given. Good communication skills and the ability to work with a multidisciplinary team are essential, as patients are cared for between ward and clinic areas.
It is essential for the post holder to have or be willing to work towards a post basic qualification in a relevant field and complete a SACT UKONS Passport.
Four weeks supernumerary and full mentorship package will be offered to the successful candidate. In order to deliver the best nursing care to our patients we want to do our best to invest in you. As the post holder develops, they will be responsible for the training and supervision of others and as such, a teaching and assessing or mentoring qualification is desirable.

Experience
* Registered Nurse with 12 months experience minimum
* Previous experience in the cancer division
