Unqualified Teacher
Do you enjoy leading learning, explaining ideas and working with young people?
Are you confident communicating and managing a classroom environment, even though you don’t yet hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)?
Smile Education are recruiting on behalf of Shireland Biomedical Academy for Unqualified Teachers to support teaching and learning across the school. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who have strong subject knowledge and clear communication skills, and who are exploring teaching as a long-term career pathway.
Qualified Teacher Status is not required for this role. Training, support and mentoring will be provided for successful candidates. If you already have experience—whether in tutoring, classroom cover, youth leadership, coaching, or subject support—you are encouraged to apply, as this can support a smoother transition into classroom teaching.
These roles may lead to long-term placements and future training opportunities for the right candidates.
About Shireland Biomedical Academy As part of the Shireland Collegiate Academy Trust, the school is committed to:
✔ Ambition – raising aspirations and outcomes for all
✔ Innovation – embracing technology and research-based practice
✔ Collaboration – supporting staff and students to work together
✔ Respect & Compassion – valuing every member of the school community
Staff are supported through mentoring, training and structured professional development, making this a strong route for those interested in progressing towards teaching or education-based qualifications.
